Independent Chamber Theatre in Yerevan

About the Theatre

arten is an independent chamber theatre founded in Yerevan at the end of 2022. Here it is necessary and important to think, to discover new meanings; here the idea of universal human values matters; here you can hear yourself.

The theatre was founded by artistic director Alexander Teterev-Kosach, who first came to Armenia in 2018, during the Velvet Revolution, and was captivated by the people and what was happening in the country. Together with his team, he opened an independent theatre dedicated to overcoming alienation between people.

The space hosts performances, open rehearsals, lectures, film screenings, and events for children. The theatre also operates a laboratory and studio program for actors, with plans for a full acting school.

Our Mission

The task of theatre today is overcoming alienation between people. We create a space where real problems are discussed, where we are open to dialogue, and where art serves as a bridge between communities.
